Apparently back in the day SGI made some nice bitmapped fonts for terminal use. They’re now distributed by SGI under a new license.
There is a FreeBSD port which packages them up nicely. Here you can find a tarball of the resulting font subdirectory. Might work nicely if you unpack into ~/.fonts
and run fc-cache
. There is also a new TTF adaptation which possibly works on OS X.
(Of course, if you’re on FreeBSD just pkg install sgifonts
!)
